Introducing the NEW Wintrust Teen Banking Club!®

Introducing the NEW Wintrust Teen Banking Club!®

Maybe you’ve heard of our Junior Savers Club® helping young children learn about the importance of financial responsibility, but did you know we also have a club just for teens? Officially formed in 2022, the Teen Banking Club has activities and events organized just for teenagers, promoting healthy financial habits, community involvement, and good times.

Whether your Junior Saver is ready to move up, you’ve never heard of Junior Savers, or you’re just looking for productive ways to engage a teenager, any parent or guardian with an open deposit account at any of our banks can sign their teen up for the Teen Banking Club!

Here’s a look at what we do:

Good financial habits start here
Like Junior Savers, the Teen Banking Club’s goal is to help our members develop an understanding of responsible money management, with activities and materials appropriate for their age. Through newsletters, events, or in-bank activities, teen members can use their local branch as a resource and build on their knowledge of money. Learning about how banking works, money management, community investment, and more.

Get involved with the Club
Teen Banking Club members are invited to any and all of the free events we put on throughout the year! Some are local and some are city-wide. Movies at the park, river cruises, outings to baseball games, just to name a few. Make sure you’re receiving our newsletter so you know what events are coming up near you!

We also connect members with opportunities to volunteer and give back to their community. Program coordinators reach out to local organizations and list volunteer opportunities in each newsletter. It’s a great way for teens to meet new people and learn more about their neighbors. Plus, adding community service and financial learning to their extracurriculars looks great on a college application!

Why have two clubs?
Having both clubs means they can grow with your child and be better suited for them as they get older. Especially for teens, providing better activities creates a greater likelihood to engage with them on financial, and fun, topics.

Other banks may offer financial education to teens, but no other bank organizes the events and opportunities for community involvement like Wintrust does. With the Teen Banking Club, members can learn the importance of responsible money management as well as the impact they can have on their community, all while having a good time.

How do I sign my teen up?
There are a couple of ways to go about getting your teen into this exclusive club. If your teen has a Junior Savers account already, they are automatically members. A parent or guardian can open one of those accounts here. In addition, if a parent or guardian has a savings or checking account at a Wintrust bank, they can enroll their teen in the Teen Banking Club by reaching out to whatever branch they bank at.

If your teen is ready for their own account, we offer Student Checking for the 13 to 25 age group. It has no monthly maintenance fees, no minimums to open, or monthly balance requirements, and they would be immediately eligible to join the Teen Banking Club. It also comes with a debit card.

What events are coming up?
Look for pet Halloween costume contests in the fall, and ice skating at Wrigley Field coming this November! Check with your local branch or our newsletters for the great offerings near you going on this summer.
