Kate Boege joined Wintrust in September 2015. She manages all of the company’s legal affairs, supporting bank and non-bank subsidiaries with legal matters.
Before joining Wintrust, Kate served as general counsel and corporate secretary for Freightcar America, Inc. from January 2013 through August 2015. From August 2011 through December 2012, she served as chief administrative officer, general counsel, and secretary at Bally Total Fitness Corporation.
Kate also served as vice president, associate general counsel, and assistant secretary at the Chicago Stock Exchange. She worked in private practice at two Chicago law firms from 1991 to 1999.
Kate serves as a board member of the Chicago Public Library Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicago/Northwest Indiana, and the Women’s Educational Aid Association. Her dedication extends to the Keystone Board of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and her role as a Trustee of the Field Museum, showcasing her diverse interests and contributions.
She graduated from Northwestern University and the University of Minnesota Law School. She is a Certified Director (National Association of Corporate Directors) and a Certified Corporate Governance Professional (Society for Corporate Governance).
Outside of Wintrust, Kate enjoys gardening, travel, reading, and volunteering. A native Minnesotan who has spent her entire adult life in Chicago, she lives on the Near North side and enjoys exploring Chicago’s major landmarks and hidden gems.
