The Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce (HWCC) serves as an advocate for the Hmong and Asian American business community of Wisconsin by providing financial resources, assistance, and support to improve economic opportunities and help bridge the state’s financial and cultural wealth gap.

Headquartered in Milwaukee with additional offices in Wausau and Madison, HWCC is one of a few, if not the only, economic development organizations in the state that focuses on the business needs of Wisconsin’s AAPI community. In addition to serving as a space for business owners and entrepreneurs from underserved communities to connect and discuss challenges and successes, the chamber also partners with local organizations like Town Bank to uplift the AAPI community.

“Our partnership with Town Bank was born out of the bank’s intention to be of service to diverse communities,” said HWCC CEO Maysee Herr. “Our shared vision made it a natural fit for us to work together and in turn, allow our clients to benefit from this relationship.”

Such has been the case over the last several years, during which time Town Bank has provided HWCC with the financial capacity to support its revolving loan fund that gives its clients access to capital they need to help their businesses thrive. In addition, Town Bank assisted HWCC in developing a culturally relevant financial literacy program for the AAPI community through its membership in the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago. 

“Town Bank has consistently invested resources into our organization,” said Maysee. “In addition to providing financial capacity, there has been at least one Town Bank representative on our Board and committees since the beginning of our relationship. This relationship remains strong and it’s apparent that Town Bank continues to value its relationship with HWCC.”
