Wintrust Commercial Banking Denver Partners with Domestic Emerging Market Investments Fund

Wintrust Commercial Banking Denver is pleased to announce its support of Domestic Emerging Market Investments (DEMI) Fund, a value capital fund dedicated to investing in scalable, value-based, early- and mid-stage companies. United by their shared commitment to investing in the economic future of the communities where they work and live, Wintrust’s and DEMI’s missions and goals for driving economic prosperity in the Denver business community are well-aligned.

The relationship between the organizations is beginning with deposit and treasury management services with plans to expand in the coming years. Wintrust established three bank accounts for DEMI, each specific to the fund’s anchor, limited partner investors. They are designed to receive incoming deposits and initiate disbursement for the fund according to each investor.

“As we continue to expand our presence in Colorado, establishing a banking relationship with DEMI is a milestone moment for our team,” said Managing Director of Wintrust Commercial Banking Denver, Malcolm Evans. “Wintrust is committed to investing in the Denver business community, both directly and by working with domestically focused financial resources like DEMI, to provide funding and services that make a real impact on Denver’s economic future. We’re grateful to the DEMI team for the opportunity to work together to support local entrepreneurs, grow diverse workforces, and build economies of scale in our community.”

Since its founding several  years ago, DEMI has been focused on finding opportunistic investments that focus on the domestic emerging market, with the expressed intent on building a sustainable economy to deliver above-market returns to their investors. Through partnerships with like-minded organizations like Wintrust, DEMI is creating financial connections for entrepreneurs who haven’t been given the opportunity historically.

“We’re excited to work with Wintrust to further serve the Denver business community through this new relationship,” said Managing Director and Founder of DEMI, Danielle Shoots. “Our commitment has, and always will be, to provide entrepreneurs with the support and resources they need and historically haven’t had access to. Partnerships with other community leaders like the one we’ve formed with Wintrust are what fuel that mission. Together, we’re poised to make a real impact on local businesses and economic growth in Denver.”

As Wintrust Commercial Banking Denver kicks off its third year in the market, this new relationship underscores the local commitment and community investment synonymous with the Wintrust brand. What’s more, in addition to his role at Wintrust, Malcolm serves as chairman of the Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce. The pivotal role will allow him to leverage his banking background and community ties to assist DEMI in identifying entrepreneurs and business owners who could benefit from the new relationship.
